I did think the issue suffered a bit from the usual first issue problems. But the art and story execution are strong enough to have my interest for a second issue. Hard to say too much on what's happened so far, but I do really wanna know what's next.

hi!

Just bought both Con covers and like them a lot!. I flipped thru the interiors and a face beckons in doubt welcomes me. Then in a rush of hope... mirrors shattered, demons, battles,,, and then... life floats and the present was filled with the NECROMANCER!

FJM art was a welcome change to me and his storytelling and pacing on every page is captivating. I guess i will be looking forward to every issue of NECROMANCER especially with FJM art.

JOSHUA ORTEGA ia also a very interesting writer since its the first time a came to read his words and since im also into fantasy theme it all worked out well on my point of view. I'll welcome the thoughts that you put and the concept is really cool. Can't wait for #2.

Overall the book is fresh and the battles are RIPPIN! The colors are awesome and all i ask of you now is... WHERE'S NO. 2?!!!

Haven' t heard of any new ones yet, though I'll check in with the Cow about that...my guess is we won't see any Con exclusives until around Februrary, when the big NY Con debuts.

However, just wait until you see some of the covers Francis has in store for you on a monthly basis...I just saw #6 today and it is *awesome*...you will not be diappointed!
:)

Thanks guys...

I've seen the cover to #3 from the pages of Hunter Killer #4 and its awesome!

I'll be getting #2 after maybe 2 to 4 weeks due to shipping time (no comic store here...crap i know... oh well...) but I'll get it still. I'll get also the rest of the cover from #1 to complete all 5 covers...cool!!!

Keep the same intensity and curiosity coming and great art and words and I'll be there to see it through.

Hey Francis and Joshua! Congrats on putting out a seriously cool story. I finally read it the other day (ugh hate being swamped with work so much that I haven't had time to read my comics). I really liked the artwork and the story was rather compelling.

I thought it was a wonderful issue and am looking forward to issue #2. So much for the little 'bible study' session they had.

Boy was Abby's father a little off the deep end or what. Even being very religious as he was he was a selfish guy.

Oh well, keep up the great work you guys! *straps myself in and goes along for the ride*

QUOTE (Tim Fischer @ Aug 12 2005, 07:14 AM)
I really enjoyed the first issue. That demon prodding Abby into slashing her wrists was CREEPY as HELL! Locke seems like he's really going to steal the show in this title. His battle with the red demon was totally awesome! The way that he worked his spellcraft into the fight seemed-- well, NATURAL. That scene was really well written and well drawn, Joshua and Francis.

Aside from her appearance, I disagree that there was any change in Abby's character. What we saw of her in this first issue, while she narrated her own story, was that she was a snotty, self-centered cheerleader that broke the law and lied to her parents. All we saw of "present day" Abby was her contemplation of suicide. Beyond her new hair color(s) and her new fashion sense, I don't think that we got to see any difference in her behavior.

A few things I didn't quite understand or have questions about:

• If Abby attended a catholic high school, why weren't the students wearing uniforms? The sign about the entrance to the school did have the word "catholic" on it, right? I've never heard of a catholic high school that didn't require their students to wear uniforms.

• You can just walk into a bookstore and buy an ancient spellbook? What kind of bookstore is this?!

Overall, I really enjoyed this first issue, and I'm looking forward to reading more. Especially more about my main man, Locke!

Tim

Yeah, that demon is one very well-done bad guy. I'm enjoy8ing him. I was goping to cal him one good bad guy, but... I know he's evil, but I can enjoy well-writtn villains...
