I liked the first arc, but I was looking forward to seeing Abigail to learn and embrace her powers a bit more.

I was also waiting to see the significance of the change of hair color. At first I thought was a side effect of her using her power, but now I wonder if it just a cosmetic change because she's on the from from the colonel and his army of lving dead.

The art is beautiful and I can wait to see Abby kill her tormentor, or are we really seeing Abby's at the end of her life and the whole series is one big flashblack?

If so, that would really suck

Other than that, I loved the issue!

Unbelievable. This is the most beautiful artwork I've ever seen. I'm in love.

It was a great issue, but still left us with so many unanswered questions. Doesn't really seem like the end of an arc or anything. Does anyone have any ideas as to what "Something in the Way" was referring to?

prehaps that something in the way was Abigals former life.

She has some serious magic mojo going on here, her destiny, and everything she is capable of, regadless of who is trying to use/help her, any path beyond that point would be easier to embrace if her former life was destroyed.

In just 3 issues, her whole family was slaughter, all her friends were killed, her house and all her possesions burnt to the ground, and shes on the run from everything since every coneption she has/had of reality is changing and shifting from actuallity to illusion.

The only thing certain is that she has a great power within her, and thats they only thing she has left to turn to and rely on.

or at least thats my take on it.

Great issue by the way. I curious for the reason for the hair color change too, I thought it would have been revealed by now. I'm also wondering when the story will come full circle.

Well, it is starting to make more sense with the begininging, with the mage Locke, and more of his role being revealed.

The art was great thruout.

one thing, maybe I've been watching too much Fullmetal Alchemist on Adult Swim, but are those alchemick Transumation circles Loche is creating all over the place?

Creepy stuff with the cult temple/church. Between the burning corpses and Mail's nectar and the dead animals....yeah, not a place that I would want to touch with a 10 mile pole.

So with Abby being so powerful as to bring mali into the physical realm and not be aware of him or have any intensional affiliation with evil it'll be interesting to see the flip side of the coin. From the beginning we know that her powers will bring her lots of pain but also saves her butt. Hopefully she doesn't do anything that'll end up killing Locke by accident in the future. So he better be a good mentor or it's his ass on the line.
"Oh my God, oh my God, oh my God...It's happening again...
$#!%" That was priceless. Further proves that her powers are natural insticts to her that have been untapped until now. Just hope things like that don't happen with her if she's fooling around with boys. :wiggle!:

You're still keeping me on the edge of my seat Mr. Ortega. Between you and Manapul's art, I'll have to hang around for the ride.

Will most definitely be making a trip to the comic shop when #4 comes out.

Glad to see that everyone's digging #3 so far! Onto the specific comments...

Frensh: Thanks for the congrats!

Zetyel: Looking forward to hearing what you think of it...

Stonewall: The mystery of her hair color change will be fully explained in #4...hey, this has gotta be the first time a change in hair color was so mysterious, right! And as far as Abby's death...now, that would be telling, wouldn't it?
;)

Mario: Thanks for the review and for posting the link...and thanks for sticking around until the next arc! I think next issue might just be your favorite yet...

Svengoolie: Yeah, is FJM amazing, or what? Easily his best work yet... Btw, "Something in the Way" has a few different meanings, but first and foremost is the fact that Abby "has a knack for the Way," in other words, a natural talent for magic.

Darkmagistric: Everything comes full circle by Issue #5...and I like your take on the arc title too. In many ways, that's very true!

Johnni: Yeah, definitely stay away from the Church of Mali...that's just what we could *show*! And would a boy be safe fooling around with Abby? I think so...that is, as long as they don't piss her off!

No problem. I'll stick around as a reader, though I don't know if I'll keep reviewing it. Maybe an issue once a awhile, when I think I've got something to say, but probably not every month. Keep up the good work!

I'm curious as to why issue 5 is getting more advertising and cover previews than issue 4.
The only time I saw issue 4's cover was in the back of issue 3, and it's still much smaller than the issue 5 preview.

Will 5 actually be out in January as it's solicited or was that still an original shipping date that's since changed?
If it really is coming out next month you guys did some major catching up.

I have a feeling her hair color change is gonna get some one liner or something.
Didn't know it was a mystery, I thought it was pretty obvious that since everyone's looking for a blonde cheerleader it'd make sense to disguise herself on the other side of the social spectrum.

I forget to pick this issue up this week. I had it in my hands than I put it down and forgot to pick it up again. I'll be sure to get it (for sure) when I go to my LCS on Wednesday.

And if you're lucky, I just might post my thoughts on it!
