Yeah and he's 6'1 so hieght isn't an issue as much and he's also great freinds with his costar in LOTR Viggo Mortenson (my choice for Kenny) so maybe they would do the film to kind of reunite on screen.

I finally saw Rhona Mitra in action in Rise of the Lycans. She'd be a good Sara.

Give him a wig and Karl Urban could be a good Ian. He has the right physicality.

Agreed. Who do you think should be Ken Irons? I personally would love Viggo Mortenson to play him. I don't know why.

I like Jason Issacs but casting someone with a bit more notorioty for their acting will give the film more wieght and also he is a bigger name because of the LOTR series so it will make the film be more noticed by the mainstream media. We don't want WB to turn into Speed Racer...

All i can say is WOW, hot thread!

Um, I really like the idea of Carl Urban as Ian. Looking back on some of his other works i feel that he had the adequete ability to be a man who is loyal and disciplined (Think Chronicles of Riddick, hate it or love it, he does have the experience of becoming that type of character) Plus he was HOT in Doom. I will say Hugh Jackman is a good choice on looks but his voice is too gruff. I feel his voice has some sort of edge to it.

I think using Jason Issacs is a nice choice for Kenneth. Even though with the different styles that have taken place in WB over the years, i think that his facial features best speak to that of Kenneth Irons inner personality, also even though he looks good for his (ungodly) age, someone like Tim Daly is a pretty nice choice but is too macho. Irons seemed like the type who was masterful in mind skills than anything else.

Not really into Megan Fox being Sara. Megan looks more sly and condescending than the street wise sometimes impulsive Sara. Also, she's too polished looking, afterall Sara did have a rough childhood and is pretty tomboyish even now. Odette Yustman i agree would be a nice fit for Julie. So far the best/closest pick is Rhona Mitra. Shes a little rough looking but Sara has grit. From looks alone id say she is a very good 'middle' Sara, middle as in that she could easiest transition between the younger Sara and the older Sara if need be.

Others I agree with:
Jackie Estacado - Milo Ventimiglia
Jake McCarthy - Eric Dane
Angelus - Trcia Helfer
takeshi kaneshiro as Michael Yee
Lucy Lawless as Danette Boucher

My Absolutes: No Viggo, No Jolie, No Colin

Everyone talks about how civilized and advanced humanity is but the one thing we lack is the ability to control our minds. You would think that with how EVOLVED we are, we could learn simple things like tolerance, respect, and helping others to maintain a true peaceful equilibrium of humanity. That we wouldn't have the societal problems that we do, IF we were as SMART/ADVANCED as we claim to be.

If for any reasons my top choices are'nt availible or if they don't go with the more high profile names that these actors could pull off the respective roles just as well or better.

Cerina Vincent as Sara Pezzini
She would be perfect! She is from Italian ancestery and she isn't afraid of nudity in the least. She old enough to be taken seriuosly as a detective, an underated actress IMO, and she is super hot!

(IMG:http://i42.tinypic.com/zks47k.jpg)

Rupert Friend as Ian Nottingham
He is an actor on the verge. It is possible he could be the next Orlando Blume. This handsome British actor has the accent, physic, and regal quality to get the job done.

(IMG:http://i41.tinypic.com/25qaxs5.jpg)

Jon Ham as Kenneth Irons
If you've never watched Mad Men you might not know about this actor but he has the pressence that the actor who plays Kenny must and although he'll have to put on a fake accent I still think he could do it very well.

New to the forums here, but not new to the world of Top Cow. Been reading Witchblade since 1997 with the Tomb Raider/Witchblade one off from Another Universe.com. Can't wait for the upcoming movie. Got around to reading Witchblade Origins Volume 1. And here's my cast list for you all if I were to cast the film.

Mary Elizabeth Winstead for Sara Pezzini
(IMG:http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/1/16/Mary_Elizabeth_Winstead_3.jpg/180px-Mary_Elizabeth_Winstead_3.jpg)

I do agree with Karl Urban for Ian. As for Kenneth Irons, I vote for either Christian Bale, or Hugo Weaving. They both have the look, though Hugo would have to bulk up a bit.

Michael Yee..... Donnie Yen!
Lt. Joe Siry - Hugh Laurie
Jake - Mike Vogel
Liza - The chick that played Jungle Julia in Death Proof
Julie Pezzini - Jordan Ladd, she just has that quality about her that's perfect for the role.

Other people, leave that up to you guys.

Okay so for consensus purposes most of us agree on

Rhona Mitra for Sara

Karl Urban for Ian Nottingham

Milo Ventimiglia for Jackie Estacado

Trcia Helfer for Angelus

takeshi kaneshiro as Michael Yee

and Lucy Lawless as Danette Boucher

BUT NOT ON

Kenneth Irons

Lisa Buzanis

Julie Pezzini

Joe Suri

Jake McCathy

I think I'll e-mail the ones we do agree on to Plantnum studios and Darclight films. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

No Rhona Mitra, she's already been Lara Croft! One of the first Lara Croft motion capture models, and promotional models too. Doesn't need to be Sara Pezzini too. She was good in Doomsday but I vote the other chick from Doomsday as well as another potential nomination for Sara... Lee-Anne Leibenberg. She played Viper.

IDK I went to her IMDB and it seems she nothing more than a glorified stunt double.

If they were to go with an unknown I'd rather it be an actual actress like Cerina Vincent.

Cerina Vincent was good in Cabin Fever and decent in It Waits... haven't seen her in anything else though. I refuse to watch Murder Set Pieces though, all because we at Dread Central have had it out with the director of it himself. Wonder if she can handle all the physical stunt work it would take to be Sara. Like I were a casting director, I'd be looking at physicality, acting skills, and I would also test their stunt skills if the role requires stunt work to see what they can and can't pull off. So in choices I'd go with Mary Elizabeth Winstead (I've seen her flexibility and she could do it), Cerina Vincent maybe, Lee-Anne Liebenberg, Lizzy Caplan (She showed promise in Cloverfield), and possibly Electra Avellan (One of the Babysitter twins from Grindhouse.)

I do know that they shouldn't go with a big name just to go with a big name to sell the movie cause big name actors don't really act all that good half the time but that's usually due to bad scripts and directors. Case in point, Angelina Jolie. She's great with a good script and all that, without any of that.... eeeek, believe me, I've seen her act horribly in films, but those films also weren't that good either. Example, Life or Something Like It. Nuff said! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

I agree completely about the big name thing. I think they need to find someone who can play the part first and foremost and then worry about how marketable they are. They can always cast around the main character with more well known actors.

Cerina Vincent's newest movie Complacent. It looks like a really good drama!

And BTW Dr. Gonzo welcome to the boards! :)

Thank you jaymes! This topic is actually what made me finally join the boards cause I took theatre in high school and I've written many scripts myself that I've been trying to get funding for... Mostly horror, drama, and just completely f---ed up s---. We allowed to curse on here or do we gotta censor like that? Just asking cause I have the mouth of a sailor and so do my hands. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) Back to topic, with talking to Sid Haig and Bill Moseley online through Fangoria and stuff, I've learned a lot about the business and a lot of it isn't how people think it is. By the way, both of them are some of the greatest people you'd ever talk to. They really appreciate the fans and their dedication and they're down to Earth like you wouldn't believe. Gave me a lot of good advice. But Top Cow knows what it's like already with Wanted and all.

I wish I was in the comic business so I could get movie deals. I don't wanna do anymore acting, that s--- is too nerve racking. But writing and directing is a definite. Anyone got any advice for someone that's trying to start up their own indie comic company? Cause the story of Image actually inspired me to not send in my portfolio to any company and try to DIY. Still need to work on my background art, objects, and animals, but I have humans and cartoon characters down pat. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) Wouldn't be about the money for me though as I actually loathe and hate money with a passion. Very unnecessary thing it is. And I think I will check out that Complacent movie.
