I'm just wondering because we've not really heard anything on the development of the Witchblade movie. Last I heard they were hiring a writer. Is there going to still be a movie? It would be nice to know if I coould look out for it in the near future or not. Who else is baffled by the lack of any forward movment?

I'm baffled as well. I fully respect and approve of the idea that Top Cow wants to take their time and make sure they do this project right but at some point you need to crap or get off the pot.

Don't look out.

One simple rule when you're waiting for a movie project : consider that there's NOTHING definitive about it, until you can read an official filming start date, or an official movie release date.

The problem is the same with movies or with comics : Top Cow regularly makes some announcements about projects that aren't ready to launch (a Starfall comics, a Witchblade movie,...)

So, when nothing comes out a few months later, fans are disappointed.

In the times we're living, we can be sure there will be a Witchblade movie, sooner or later.

Comics movies are so successful that Hollywood adapts them one by one.

Knowing this, I'm glad to see the Cow taking all the time needed to make the best movie they can.

Hi Gang,

Black Bolt is right, until you hear someone announce a movie actually has an official start date or a release date, it may not happen at all. It's just the way development in Hollywood works. And we will always endeavor to make something right or not at all. Trust me, Nightcraws, we could have made a Witchblade movie numerous times in the last decade, but they would have been disappointing and hurt the franchise.

Right now the script is being worked on by a screenwriter whose take all of the producers, Marc, and Matt like. Assuming the script comes in great, the Witchblade movie could start moving quite quickly.

Announcements of attachments, development and so forth are part and parcel of the way Hollywood works.
